What are the characteristics of the ideal biomarker for identifying patients with prostate cancer?

The ideal biomarker test has a 100% accuracy: if the test is negative, you are certain that you do not have clinically significant prostate cancer. Although this is probably utopia, the new generation biomarker tests come very close. With the new biomarker tests, there is a minimal risk of missing clinically significant prostate cancer.

What we want is a test with a very high negative predictive value for clinically significant prostate cancer
